- Tufo Comtura Aero 28
(100% is best)
The Comtura Aero is the lightest tire in Tufo's Comtura lineup, and as the name suggests, focuses on aerodynamic performance. Despite this focus on aerodynamics, the Comtura Aero is not an ultra-thin time-trial tire; it features sufficient tread thickness and a Vectran anti-puncture layer for good puncture protection.
We have already tested several "Aero" tires, and we know that their performance can vary significantly in our rolling resistance, puncture resistance, and grip tests. Thus, the "Aero" in the name does not guarantee a fast tire. However, we are confident that cyclists interested in an "Aero" tire will want to know if it meets their other requirements. Our test results will answer these questions and provide a clearer picture of the Comtura Aero.
The Comtura Aero is available in 25-mm and 28-mm sizes, making it suitable for almost every road cyclist. It is currently offered competitively, making it interesting for many people searching for a tube-type racing tire.

The Road Bike section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Tufo Comtura Aero 28
(100% is best)
The Tufo Comtura Aero is surprisingly puncture-resistant for an "Aero" tire, but the rolling resistance is on the high side. The other "performance" factors are very strong, as both the weight and wet grip are excellent, which could help you regain some performance.
The Comtura Aero performs almost exactly the same as the Comtura Duo (comparison) we tested last year. The Comtura Aero is essentially the same tire as the Comtura Duo but equipped with a more aerodynamic tread pattern.
So if you're looking for an Aero tire but puncture protection is also very important to you, you'll quickly find yourself turning to the Tufo Comtura Aero.
