- Schwalbe G-One RS Super Race 35
(100% is best)
The Schwalbe G-One RS Super Race with Addix Race compound is Schwalbe's fastest gravel bike tire. We know that's true because we tested the 40 mm version of the G-One RS last year (read our review) and found it one of the quickest gravel bike tires that still offers a somewhat knobby tread. This time we will look at the 35 mm version of the G-One RS and see how it compares to the 40 mm version.

From a construction standpoint, all sizes of the G-One RS (35, 40, 45) come with the same 67 TPI Super Race casing and Addix Race compound, and the overall performance in our tests should come in very close to each other. After testing a few other tires where only the size was different, we have seen that there can sometimes be subtle differences in the thickness of the tread or the height of the knobs.
When diving deeper into the tire specifications on Schwalbe's website, we noticed the G-One RS comes with a V-Guard anti-puncture layer. Given that both the 35 and 40 mm versions we tested only show average performance in the tread puncture resistance test, this might be a new version of Schwalbe's V-Guard that offers less protection as the other tires that come with V-Guard protection score much better in our puncture test.
We also view this test of the 35 mm G-One RS as an excellent way to verify the overall performance of the G-One RS.

The CX/Gravel section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Schwalbe G-One RS Super Race 35
(100% is fastest - lightest - highest - strongest)
Like the 40 mm version of the G-One RS (read our review), the 35 mm is an incredibly fast gravel bike tire. If you want an even faster tire, only a few 32-35 mm -full slick- road bike tires roll faster than the G-One RS. When we compare it to Schwalbe's top-of-the-line Pro One TLE road bike tire, the knobby G-One RS rolls just as fast (which might be hard to wrap your head around).
When we compare the 35 mm version of the G-One RS with the 40 mm version, we see performance coming in quite close to each other, with the 35 mm version edging out the 40 mm version in most tests. We do see the height of the edge knobs on the 35 mm version is slightly lower (0.5 mm) than the 40 mm version, which is something we didn't expect, but those subtle differences can make a difference when deciding which size to pick.
Like the 40 mm version, the Achilles heel of the 35 mm G-One RS is the performance in our hard surface wet grip test. Grip will be the most apparent difference in the real world when deciding between the 35 mm G-One RS and a 35 mm slick road bike tire. The slick road bike tire will grip better on tarmac or any other hard surface, but the G-One will easily outperform those tires on softer surfaces where you need the knobs to dig in.
