- Continental Grand Prix 5000 All Season TR 32
(100% is best)
NOTE: This Continental Grand Prix 5000 All Season TR 32 was tested as a CX-Gravel tire at low air pressures. You can also find a test of the 25 mm Grand Prix 5000 All Season TR in the road bike section.
After testing the 25 mm (read our review) and 35 mm (read our review) versions of the Continental Grand Prix 5000 All Season TR, we're now going to look at the 32 mm version. We found some interesting differences between the 25 and 35 mm versions of the Grand Prix 5000 All Season TR, which makes this test even more interesting. The 35 mm comes with a thicker tread, better puncture resistance, and (according to us) a softer Black Chili compound than the 25 mm version.

With the surprising differences between the 25 and 35 mm versions, we're curious where the 32 fits in (and the 28, which we hope to test as well). Does it have the same thicker tread, the same softer compound? Or is it a mixture of the 25 and 35 mm versions?
Let's quickly move over to the test results, which are the most exciting part of this review. If you want more information about the Continental Grand Prix 5000 All Season TR, please read our other reviews of the 25 mm (read our review) and 35 mm (read our review) versions.

The CX/Gravel section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Continental Grand Prix 5000 All Season TR 32
(100% is fastest - lightest - highest - strongest)
When we compare the 32 mm version of the Continental Grand Prix 5000 All Season TR against the 35 mm version, we see the 32 performing a bit less in most of our tests. To be fair, the minor differences all fall within the margin of error of the tests and manufacturing tolerances. If we bought new 32 and 35 mm samples and retested both, the results could favor the other tire.
Where we do see a big difference is in our wet grip tests, where the 32 mm performs less (but still extremely strong) than the 35 mm version. The 32 mm comes in closer to the 25 mm version, which makes us suspect the compound on the 32 mm version has the same hardness as the compound on the 25 mm version. If you need the best gripping tire in wet conditions and it fits your bike, you should pick the 35 mm version of the Grand Prix 5000 All Season over the 32 mm version.
We'll probably take a look at the 28 mm version as well to see where that fits in regarding tread thickness and tread puncture resistance; it's still unclear if that one comes with the ~2.5 mm tread thickness of the 25 mm version or the 3.2-3.4 mm of the 32 and 35 mm versions. It seems we've at least found the compound hardness crossover point with the 32 and 35 mm versions.
If you're a Pro Member, we recommend using Pro View to compare the 25, 32, and 35 mm versions side by side to get a clear view of the differences between these sizes of the 5000 All Season TR.
