(100% is best)
The Continental Terra Speed is a tubeless-ready, medium knob height, gravel bike tire that comes with Continental's Black Chili rubber compound. If you've followed our site for some time, you probably know that in the road bike and mountain bike sections, Continental tires that come with the Black Chili compound often are among the best performing in our tests.

The Terra Speed is build from Conti's tubeless-ready 3/180 casing with an extra layer on the sidewalls to better seal the tire and protect against sidewall cuts. The Terra Speed is available in both a 35 and 40 mm wide version as well as in 622 and 584 rim sizes. We've tested the 35-622 version as the 35-622 size is our preferred size in the CX/Gravel section that covers tires from 32 up to 40 mm wide.
Also available from Continental is the Terra Trail (read our review) that comes with bigger knobs and is more optimized towards grip than speed.

The CX/Gravel section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Continental Terra Speed TR 35
(100% is fastest - lightest - highest - strongest)
If you're looking for a fast gravel bike tire that still has knobs and offers some puncture protection for all-round use, we feel the Terra Speed will offer the most performance for both road and off-road use. The Panaracer GravelKing (read our review)is only slightly faster at the extra low air pressure but we feel the Terra Speed is much more a gravel bike tire than the GravelKing which is nearly a slick tire.
We always recommend you to take a look at the CX/Gravel overview page to compare all data of the tested CX/Gravel bike tires and form your own opinion.
