(100% is best)
Vredestein is quite new to the gravel bike scene and offers just a single gravel bike tire with their tubeless-ready Aventura. When you only have a single tire to cover a large range of conditions, it needs to be a do it all tire, and we found that's exactly what the Vredestein Aventura is.

As with most do it all gravel bike tires, the Aventura comes with closely spaced center knobs that have a limited height and bigger and more widely spaced knobs along the edge of the tire. The tire and tread pattern looks nice and is easily identified as a Vredestein tire, as the tread pattern reminds us of some of Vredestein's mountain bike tires. We expect the tread pattern to work well for many conditions except for wet/muddy conditions, where we don't think it will clear mud all that well.
The Vredestein Aventura comes with a 120 TPI tubeless-ready casing, but we find the most exciting ingredient to be Vredestein's triple-compound TriComp compound. If you've followed our tests, you might know that the compound is the most critical ingredient of a bicycle tire, and 70 to 80% of a tire's performance comes from the compound. A true triple compound tire, with an ultra-fast base layer, fast center tread, and grippy edge tread, probably is the holy grail of tire manufacturing.
We've tested the Aventura in the 38-622 size with black sidewalls, but it's also available in the 44-622 and 50-584 sizes. All sizes are available with black sidewalls, or brown sidewalls for that classic look.

The CX/Gravel section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Vredestein Aventura 38
(100% is fastest - lightest - highest - strongest)
Our tests confirm that Vredestein did an excellent job creating a do it all gravel bike tire, as the Aventura shows average performance in nearly all of our tests. Although average doesn't sound spectacular, this could be the most all-round performer in all of our tests. The main weakness is a somewhat higher rolling resistance, especially at the lowest air pressures.
So why do we rate this only a 3.5 out of 5? Because the ratings are based on our test results, and you can find tires that perform stronger than the Aventura in nearly all tests. We're sure that the Aventura will serve you well if you're not looking for the absolute fastest, most puncture-resistant, lightest, or grippiest gravel bike tire.
