(100% is best)
The Tufo Comptura 4 TR is a tubeless road bike tire with a strong focus on puncture resistance. Even though we've tested a whole lot of tires over the past years, the Comptura 4 TR is only the first road bike we've tried from the small Czech Tufo brand. We did test 3 of their gravel bike tires and found them to be very strong performers in our tests, which is hopeful as a lot of tire tech is shared within a manufacturer's lineup.
Unlike most other small tire brands, Tufo has their own factory, which means we have a unique tire on our hands that might be in for a surprise performance. The Comptura 4 TR comes with a hookless compatible, tubeless 210/375 TPI casing with an additional Vectran anti-puncture resistant strip under the tread. The compound is Tufo's SPC Silica compound which is their most balanced performance compound.
The Comptura 4 TR is currently only available in the 25-622 and 28-622 sizes, although you can choose either black or beige sidewalls. We've tested the 28-622 version with black sidewalls, and we expect that one to be the most popular size and color.

The Road Bike section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Tufo Comtura 4 TR 28
(100% is best)
The Tufo Comptura 4 TR shows very strong performance in the tread puncture resistance tests, and that's exactly what the strongest point of this tire is. Even though puncture resistance is excellent, it isn't up to the level of the Pirelli Cinturato Velo TLR, which we regard as the most puncture-resistant tubeless road bike tire.
Compared to the Pirelli, we see much stronger performance in the "performance" tests, and we see the Comptura 4 TR as a good option for those looking for improved puncture resistance but still value performance. Another strong point of the Comptura 4 TR is the very wide tread that offers more real-life sidewall protection than our tests indicate. Even though the tread is more than wide enough, and the wet center grip is excellent, we do see a somewhat lower grip in our wet edge grip test.
The Tufo Comptura isn't your average all-round tubeless road bike tire, but it shows unique performance that might fit your requirements perfectly.
