(100% is best)
The Goodyear XPLR Inter is a 'Goodyear designed for Zipp' tire optimized for the 32 mm internal width Zipp 303 XPLR wheelset. It is Goodyear's most versatile gravel bike tire in the XPLR series, featuring an all-round tread pattern that provides excellent grip in various off-road conditions. If maximum speed is your priority, you might also consider the XPLR Slick, which follows the same design principles but is tailored for speed.
We tested the Goodyear XPLR Slick (read our review) a while ago, and it confirmed that the Goodyear Zipp XPLR range looks promising. It uses some tech from Goodyear's latest Eagle F1 R road bike tires, which performed strongly in our tests. The 120 TPI casing is complemented with Goodyear's UHP Dynamic compound, an advanced compound offering low rolling resistance and high grip levels.
With the XPLR series being designed for a 32 mm internal rim width, the actual size of the tire is always an interesting aspect. The XPLR Inter is only available in the 45-622 size, but our measurements show that it's much smaller than "conventional" tires of the same size. We're quite sure it will be very close to 45 mm on the 32 mm rims, but if you're expecting a huge volume, you're out of luck with these tires.

The CX/Gravel section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Goodyear XPLR Inter 45
(100% is fastest - lightest - highest - strongest)
The performance of the Goodyear XPLR Inter in our tests is strong, and we see no reason we would not recommend this tire if you have the matching wheels. Like the XPLR Slick (read our review) that we tested earlier, we see that the size of the tire is small, but this is obviously related to the choice to match the tires with wider rims, which give the tires more volume.
Better-performing tires are available if you do not have the matching Zipp wheels.
