The Schwalbe Pro One TLE is the successor to the Schwalbe Pro One Tubeless from 2015. Back in 2015, the Pro One Tubeless (read review) was the fastest and lightest tubeless tire you could buy and even one of the fastest when compared to tube-type tires with latex inner tubes. In the last couple of years, we've seen the Pro One Tubeless being surpassed by faster tires resulting in it gradually dropping down in our road bike ranking.

The Pro One TLE with Addix Race compound is Schwalbe's answer to the competition. The casing is now marked as being a 2 x 127 TPI casing instead of the 127 TPI + Microskin fabric of the previous generation. While the Pro One Tubeless did well in our tests, we received a lot of comments about the subpar puncture resistance of the Pro One Tubeless when used in a tubeless set up. It looks like the Microskin didn't work as well in real-life and Schwalbe now simply uses a double layer casing with a V-Guard puncture strip under the tread.
The compound also received an update, the Pro One TLE now uses the Addix Race compound instead of the OneStar compound of the previous generation. Specified weight has gone down by 10 grams for the same specified size but please be aware that Schwalbe downsized the tire to be more true to size when used with wider rims. New is a 30-622 size which is probably the same size as the older 28-622 Pro One.
Also new is a TT version of the Pro One. The Pro One TT is even lighter as it comes with less rubber and no V-Guard puncture strip under the tread. Read our review of the Pro One TT here.

The Road Bike section is a multi tire size section, air pressures have been adjusted to the measured casing width. All numbers are for a single tire at a speed of 29 km/h / 18 mph and a load of 42.5 kg / 94 lbs. Use the formula: RR (Watts) = CRR * speed (m/s) * load (N) to calculate rolling resistance at a given speed and load. |

Conclusion
- Schwalbe Pro One TLE Addix 25
(100% is best)
The Pro One TLE has a slightly lower rolling resistance than its predecessor but doesn't come close to the Grand Prix 5000 TL (read review) that is the benchmark in the all-round tubeless category. Puncture resistance in our tests has gone down by 1 point for both the tread and sidewall. Although the specified weight has gone down, it looks like real-life weight is higher for the same air volume. The good part is that tread thickness has gone up from 2.3 mm to 2.7 which means durability should be better.
Rated 4 out of 5 because the Continental Grand Prix 5000 TL seems to be the better choice in almost all aspects. If real-life puncture resistance turns out to be better than the previous edition of the Pro One this can still be a solid tubeless tire.
Comments about user experiences with both the old and new Pro One are very welcome.
